Long stays at Emerson Zanzibar 

Since the 90s, Emerson Zanzibar has been a place where travellers tend to spend a bit more time to immerse themselves in Swahili culture and to fully experience all that Stone Town has to offer. Emerson Spice and Emerson on Hurumzi offer discounted rates for guests who spend a week or longer in the hotel rooms. Furnished with antiques, combined with modern comforts, the suites in Emerson on Hurumzi offer a great base for spending a longer time in Stone Town. With a desk to work, write poetry or study a language, as well as an outside veranda or rooftop to spend time looking out over the sea and the surrounding Stone Town. A minifridge, as well as coffee- and tea-making facilities are provided in the room. 

In this past period, we have welcomed numerous guests who spend longer periods of time in Stone Town; who work online, who are retired, who are writing a book, who are travelling for longer periods of time for many different reasons. Whereas it is possible to easily have simple local meals at reasonable rates in Stone Town, some of our guests prefer to have the opportunity to prepare small meals and make their own breakfasts. This is why we offer cooking facilities in our long stay studio’s and apartments. The private rooftop Tea House, the sitting area on the veranda and the kitchen make the studio apartments suitable for longer stays in Stone Town. The shared spaces are an addition to the studios that both have a private en-suite bathroom and are furnished with antique furniture. 

The serviced apartments are cleaned regularly by our housekeeping team and any required repairs are done by the maintenance team. Emerson on Hurumzi reception also offers concierge services and arranges the housekeeping services for these studios. Rates are all inclusive of these services.

Besides the studios, we offer a spacious apartment with three separate en-suite rooms, kitchen and sitting area, which is an ideal set up for organisations that would like to provide a base for their guests or staff members or for families or friends who share an apartment for a longer period of time.
